BREAK THE SPEAR OF EVIL OVER SOUTH AFRICA

Father God, we bow before You in humility and total dependence to pray for our nation in the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Psalm 46. You, O God are our refuge and strength, a very present help in time of trouble. We will not fear because You are with us. Help us Lord and make this war to cease. Lord Jesus, You broke the weapons, shattered the spear and disarmed principalities and powers (Col 2:15). Lord Jesus, in Your name we break the evil spear that rises from KwaZulu-Natal, we bind the spirit of revenge and retribution. Speak Lord, while our nation rages and kingdoms within our nation wrestle for power: “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted in South Africa, I will be exalted in the land.”

Psalm 35:1-3. Lord, fight for us against the spiritual forces that threaten to destabilize our nation. Help us to fight with your weapons, with the breastplate of faith and love over our hearts, and as a helmet over our minds, the hope of salvation (1Thess.5:8). We put on the shoes of the gospel and take the Word of God as our sword (Heb.4:12). Put your word in our mouth as we say to those people who are set to destroy our nation: “The Lord Jesus Christ is your salvation. Turn to Him! He is the solution for our nation.”

Psalm 35:4-8. May those who seek the life of our nation be disgraced and put to shame; may those who plot our ruin be turned back in dismay. May every evil force be like chaff before the wind, with the angel of the LORD driving them away; may their path be dark and slippery, with the angel of the LORD pursuing them. Let those people who carry out the plans of the evil one, be convicted of sin, of righteousness and of judgment (John 16:8). Let them fall into the net of the Lord, and come to salvation (Mark 1:17). If they continue to do evil, let the Lord strike them with blindness so that they cannot see their way forward (Acts 13:10-11).

Psalm 35:9-10. Then my soul will rejoice in the LORD and delight in his salvation. My whole being will exclaim, “Who is like you, LORD? You rescue the poor from those too strong for them, the poor and needy from those who rob them.”

Psalm 35:11-22. Lord we bow before You in prayer and fasting. Our prayers will not go unanswered. We mourn for people in our nation who are not saved. We do not want to gloat over their fall, even though they slander and mock us, and gnash their teeth at us. Lord help us to overcome evil with good (Rom.12:21). Help us to respond to wickedness and false accusations with love and acts of kindness.

Psalm 35:22-23. Lord, You see everything and You are not silent. Do not be far from us, Lord. Awake and come to help us. This is the time of salvation. This is the time for revival. Send your Spirit to awaken our hearts. It is time to seek the Lord.

Psalm 35:24-26. Lord, vindicate us in your righteousness (Matt 6:33). Jesus Christ died for the people in our nation. There is forgiveness available for sin. There is a God of love. There is a plan of salvation. Let not the evil forces gloat over us and think that they have swallowed up South Africa. In the Name of Jesus we resist and rebuke every evil spirit. May they be put to shame and confusion, let them bow with disgrace at the feet of Jesus.

Psalm 35:27-28. But we will shout for joy and gladness and say: “Lord Jesus Christ be exalted, for You delight in the well-being of your children.” Our tongue will proclaim your righteousness and your praises all day long.
